Modesty

Modesty is a hot-button issue that won’t go away. The awareness of human nakedness is a result of Adam and Eve’s original sin. It will not go away until God makes all things new at the end of the world.

Every day we face the dilemma of what to wear. What do our decisions say about our hearts? We in America live in a culture that flaunts private, hidden, secret things, because we do not fear God.

As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we must know what the Bible says about modesty. We must decide whether we love God more than the latest fashion trends. While God and Fashion can coexist in our lives, only one of them can rule our hearts.

In approaching a heavy topic such as modesty, I try to find a righteous balance between two extreme Biblical/cultural views. There is usually a grain of truth worth considering on both sides. In Jesus Christ we are called to liberty, yet we are equally called to deference and discretion.

Do you wear: Or do you wear:
Modest Skirts? Modest Trousers?
Modest Sleeves? Modest Straps?
Modest Submission? Modest Confidence?
